A night well spent

I remember years ago my younger brother and I were going through a Big Lebowski phase. We had rented the movie and watched it about 3 or 4 times in a couple of days (we ended up not returning the DVD). We were in such a good mood that we decided to celebrate by hitting the bowling alley.

We arrived late, and were able to take advantage of their late night deal… which meant that we could basically bowl until dawn without it costing us much. Which is pretty much what we ended up doing.

In our first game we scored a combined total of 296. We figured focussing on combined totals would mean we’d enjoy it more. We decided straight out that we’d aim to get 300 before we would quit. We played for about 4 or 5 hours and didn’t ever beat out first game total. By this time dawn was approaching, our wrists were starting to hurt, and we were probably a little delusional from lack of sleep and too many sugary snacks.

That was remarkably enjoyable, I won’t forget it in a hurry. I’m lucky to have a younger brother who is so enamoured with The Dude.
