This specific fluorescent green glow, for me, is instantly recognisable as Dunnes Stores, the Irish department store chain. Obviously the actual photo is of a Dunnes Stores sign. This one in Ballymoney, Antrim.
My 2k walk for the day was unexpectedly located in Ballymoney today. Our return trip from Wexford to Ballycastle involved a lift with my younger brother to Dublin, a bus from Dublin to Belfast, a train from Belfast to Ballymoney, and finally a bus from Ballymoney to Ballycastle.
It was all going relatively smoothly until we got to Ballymoney where our 4pm bus drove straight past the bus stop without stopping to pick us up. As a result we were stuck in Ballymoney for 2 hours waiting the next bus to Ballycastle.
Obviously I’m quite looking forward to getting a car, but I guess these unexpected things provided some new fodder for photographing.
