On a stormy day in Ballycastle I found a small sheltered rock pool that looked beautiful with the sun reflecting off it. I took quite a few variations of this shot, a lot of which were HDR with three bracketed exposures.
Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get the HDR shots to work in a satisfactory way (mainly due to lens flare on the +2 EV bracketed shot). In the end I turned to one of the 0 EV shots and processed it manually.
By pure accident I reduced the clarity in Lightroom 4 and really loved the effect it gave to the sky surrounding the sun. I ended up using a graduated filter to restrain the clarity reduction to just the sky.
