In the background Glendalough’s round tower can be clearly seen.
The river seems to be fed not just from Glendalough but also Lough Nahunagan, and eventually joins with the Avonmore river, which in turn joins with the Avoca river and flows out to see at Arklow.
I love the colour of the water in these rivers in Wicklow, a rich, deep, and dark tone which always makes river rapids stand out all the more.
